Obituary Malvern newspaper: MRS. JOHN YATES [Melzura A. Funk-Yates] --- Mrs. John Yates about 80 years of age, died Monday at the home of her so n, Prof. David Yates in Magnet Cove. She is survived by 2 sons and sever al daughters. Deceased was striken with lagrippe, which with the weakn es of age caused her death. She was a devoted christian lady and will be s adly missed by her family and many friends. Her remains were interred in t he family burying ground at Brush Creek.
