General:

Jo Ann Deal Phillips, age 81, of Crossett, AR passed away on August 20, 2014. She was born on May 31, 1933 in Fountain Hill, AR to her parents, Jesse Jackson and Mary Holland Deal. Mrs. Phillips was an Executive Assistant to the President of Ashley, Drew & Northern Railroad; also having worked for First National Bank of Crossett and the Crossett Lumber Co. She taught second grade Sunday School Class for over thirty-five years and had also taught Adult Ladies Sunday School Class for several years. Mrs. Phillips was a member of First Baptist Church of Crossett. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Mary Deal.
Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Phillips of Crossett, AR; one son, Terry Deal Phillips (Jennifer) of Springdale, AR; one brother, Conrad Deal of Warren, AR; two sisters, Frances Deal Cleveland of Maumelle, AR, Jean Deal Kilcrease of Crossett, AR; three grandchildren, Neal Phillips of Honolulu, Hawaii, Holland Belline of Springdale, AR, Erin Terry (Dennis) of Centerton, AR; two great-grandchildren, Braxon Terry, Jack Terry and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Bro. Jamie Staley and Bro. Tracy Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday at First Baptist Church, 701 Main Street, Crossett, AR 71635.
