Alexander Deuchar (1834) lists Paul Dog of Burnside as married to Jean Paterson with son Joh n born in 1707. Descendants of this John by his first wife and Andrew by his second wife hav e been linked by DNA as having a common male ancestor.

On 11 Feb 1714 Paul Dog in Burnsyde witnessed the christening of Walter Dog, son of James Do g and Margaret Thomson; the other witness was Walter Dog in Murdockstoun.
