Charles White, 83, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mr. White was a native of Fountain Hill and a resident of Hamburg for most of his life. He was a 1952 graduate of Fountain Hill High School and a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for the Mississippi River Transmission Corporation for 35 years having retired in 1989 and he was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sterling and Marie Woods White.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Gardner White of Hamburg; two sons, Steve White and wife, Sheiron, of Monticello and Stan White and wife, Karen, of Hamburg; a daughter, Shellye Timmons and husband, Bob, of Hamburg; a sister, Edith Thurman of Lacey; a brother, Bill White and wife, Gail, of Texarkana; five grandchildren, Stephanie Knight, David White and wife, Autumn, Jeremy White, Dakotah Timmons and wife, Kelley, and Kaley White; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Hamburg with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Bobby Griffin, George Kulbeth, Gardner Smith, David White, Jeremy White, Dakotah Timmons, Jeff White and Chuck White. Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Carpenter, Buddy White and the LaGrone's Drug Store Coffee Drinkers. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
